Hard broaching tools
Technical information
When workpieces are heat-treated, the keyways often display warpage subsequently. In most cases the keyway width falls in slightly and the width tolerance is no longer correct.
As the change in size is not always the same, the problem cannot simply be solved by machining the keyway a little wider beforehand.
With our hard broaching tools, the keyway width is calibrated according to the heat treatment. This means that a maximum 0.06mm can be stripped from each side using standard tools.
The holder matches a keyway broaching tool in terms of dimensions. The shaft is finished to DIN 1415 as standard. Dimensions such as body width, length to first tooth and total height are machined to your requirements.
The cutting inserts are manufactured from carbide. There are three cutters on each side, each overlaying one another. The insert is accepted into the holder with positive locking and fixed centrally from a keyway width of 6mm using two cylindrical pins.
